The situation: Kite Pharma is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company seeking to cure cancer by restoring the immune system’s ability to destroy tumors. As the Santa Monica, California-based company advanced clinical trials for its lead product candidate and looked ahead to commercialization, its leadership sought a clean, modern website that reflected how far Kite had come. Kite wanted its website to focus on the company’s science and do more to highlight its team-centered culture. A logo update also was in order.
The plan: CanaleComm came on board to design and develop a new website, create an updated logo and produce a fresh look for business cards and slide presentations templates. For the website, CanaleComm’s digital team produced three unique, interactive examples to demonstrate the range of possibilities for design and site organization. With key creative choices made, CanaleComm developed a custom look that prioritized user experience. CanaleComm also developed new website copy to emphasize the company’s bold scientific approach. The site really came to life with photos captured during a CanaleComm-orchestrated photo shoot, while unique graphic design elements gave the site a cohesive, connected feel.
The results: With full support of Kite’s leadership team, the website launched in advance of the American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting. A custom online illustration of Kite’s manufacturing flow helped the company’s key audiences more easily understand a complex but critical element of Kite’s unique approach. A new corporate fact sheet and presentation template rounded out the company’s visual communications assemblage, providing a unified look that is as high-caliber as its science.
