Mari is a Senior Account Associate at CanaleComm, where she supports life science companies with a range of public, media and investor relations activities. Mari is using her strong science background, and her appreciation for scientific outreach, to make scientifically complex stories engaging and accessible for audiences important to life science companies, including investors, potential partners and patients. Mari made the switch to life science communications to fuel her interest in the applications of research and advancing awareness of new approaches to treating and preventing diseases.

Mari holds a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from Pitzer College in California and she completed the Managing Science in the Biotech Industry–an MBA style program offered by the American Society for Cell Biology and Keck Graduate Institute. Mari is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where her doctorate research focused on understanding how drug action impacts nervous system functioning to address individual differences in drug addiction vulnerability.

When not attending women in science events and participating in scientific outreach, Mari loves teaching and practicing yoga, being outdoors and traveling.
