An Energizing New Look for an Innovative CRO

The situation: Not-for-profit contract research organization Lovelace Biomedical sought to evolve its visual communications and website to reflect its innovative research programs, all while maintaining the brand equity it had built up since the company’s inception in 1947. Lovelace Biomedical wanted its new logo mark and website to focus on the breath of its tried-and-true service offerings as well as its vast capacity and unique location in New Mexico.

The plan: CanaleComm kicked off this project with a comprehensive, immersive brand platform workshop to define the corporate story and brand personality traits, both of which would inspire the development of an evolved logo. To communicate Lovelace Biomedical’s vast capabilities and facilities — and give a nod to its geographical location — the CanaleComm creative team designed a new logo mark representative of rolling mountains, and a color palette inspired by the desert sunset. CanaleComm also directed a two-day photo shoot on-site in Albuquerque to capture imagery of Lovelace Biomedical’s state-of-the-art facilities and capable team. Our digital development team showcased these images, alongside historical photos, on the new website.

The results: With enthusiasm from Lovelace Biomedical’s leadership team, the new brand and website were unveiled in advance of the International Meeting of the Radiation Research Society in 2016. CanaleComm also developed a range of collateral materials including business cards, a PowerPoint template, signage and a trade show booth to bolster visibility and ensure consistency in all visual communications.
